On January 13, 1986, the Board of Education authorized final <br /> specification development to include the alternates directed <br /> by the Board of Commissioners plus a third alternate for parking <br /> lot paving. This was based on a projected cost of $2,940,000 not <br /> including a contingency of 3%. <br /> 6. On March 10, 1986, the Board of Education completed a final review <br /> of plans and authorized a start bid date of March 17 with bid open- <br /> ing of April 17, 1986, at 3:00 P. M. in the County School Admini- <br /> strative Building. <br /> 7. On March 12, 1986 the superintendent transmitted a letter to the <br /> County Commissioner Chairman outlining the project bid dates and <br /> requesting action not later than May 5, 1986 to authorize signing <br /> of construction contracts. <br /> PHASE II <br /> 1. On February 24, 1986, the Board of Education approved the construc- <br /> tion of a new elementary school to house 700 students per a memo <br /> from the superintendent dated February 20, 1986.
