Although the department would like to reserve the surplus <br /> to aid in the maintenance of existing staff, Housing and <br /> Community Development is expanding minimum housing code adminis- <br /> tration. The expansion will include pamphlets, workshops and <br /> outreach to landlord and tenants. The expansion can be <br /> implemented without exceeding existing budget limitations. A <br /> minimum housing code outreach report is forthcoming. <br /> IMPACT: Establishment of an additional housing program would impact <br /> Housing and Community Development budget negatively. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> Reserve Section 8 Surplus Funds to supplement expected adminis- <br /> trative cuts in all county housing programs. <br />
