•
III. The third argument presented by the Orange County Planning Bo
Y g and is that
the proposed New Hope Church Road industrial zone is part of an orderly
county development plan which protects the integrity of the county. But
have they considered the following?
A. Adding the proposed 200 acre industrial site, when there are
already 2400 acres available, is, in fact, really scattering
industrial development around the county instead of encouraging
orderly industrial development in one or two controlled zones.
B. Encouraging industry in a new pristine site, when there are several
recently closed industrial sites in the county, is promoting urban
decay instead of urban renewal .
C. Allowing an industrial zone within the rural buffer obviously
violates all of the beneficial objectives for creating the rural
buffer.
IV. Another disturbing fact is that one of our county commissioners,
Norman Walker, owns a sizeable parcel of land within the proposed
New Hope Church Road industrial zone.
•
How to contact your County Commissioners
Mr. Donald G.
