y, 7r D <br /> Tr <br /> 1=% Rev 1/85 <br /> NORTH CAROLINA APR 2 1 9985 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY GOVERNOk WAY <br /> &ARTY PROGAM <br /> NUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR'S <br /> HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM <br /> LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHILD <br /> RESTRAINT RENTAL' PROGRAM <br /> AND AGREEMENT <br /> COUNTY OF ORANGE <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this the 7th day of _ April , <br /> 1986 , between the Governor's Highway Safety Program of the North Carolina <br /> Department of Transportation, HEREINAFTER referred to as GHSP, and the County of <br /> ORANGE hereinafter referred to as the County. <br /> WITNESSETH <br /> Whereas, GHSP proposes to implement a program to assist communities in <br /> protecting young children against death and serious injury in automobile <br /> accidents by instituting a method to educate parents and other adults as to the <br /> dangers involved in transporting children in cars and to assist in providing <br /> parents with a safe method for transporting their children in cars, and <br /> Whereas, GHSP proposes that this can be achieved through the following <br /> steps: <br /> (1 ) To designate a volunteer group as a local child passenger <br /> safety focal point; <br /> (2) To disseminate information to the citizens of a locality <br /> concerning the importance of child passenger safety and <br /> means to safely transport children; <br /> I _ <br />
