•
148
INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM: 8604-501 •
Expansion of Department on Aging Facilities
April 4, 1986
Page 2
DOA Staffing Pattern
• The department on Aging has a total staff of eight. Six
are located permanently in the Southern Orange Complex. The
positions are: Homemaker Coordinator, RSVP Coordination,
RSVP Program Assistant, I & R . Specialist, Senior Center
Supervisor, and Clerk Typist. Staff rotates to Hillsborough
on assigned days.
Two staff members, the Director and Senior Center
Supervisor are located in Hillsborough permanently with the
Director rotating as needed. Office space is available at
both facilities.
Cost of Leasing Existing Facilities
All existing DOA facilities are housed in County owned
buildings. These activities can continue at a
site agreeable to JOCCA and the Town of Carrboro without the
expansion of DOA. Currently JOCCA, Town of Carrboro and the
Artschool have a nutrition/crafts arrangements for Carrboro
senior residents. We would hope that JOCCA and the Town of
} crafts facilities for
nutrition
/crafts Carrboro will find /
Carrboro residents before the ArtSchool terminates its
existing lease with Carr Mill Mall.
Commitment of Fiscal Year 1986-87 funds Before County Budget
Preparation
As you are aware, we are in the midst of the budget -
season. Numerous budget requests have been received,
however, a comparison of county revenues with county demands
