Hildebrandt, Chair of the Orange County In <br /> Home Care Board, wishes to make a statement concerning budges <br /> cuts and its impact on the home-bound who are presently unde <br /> care and who are at-risk of becoming home bound. <br /> NEED: Through CAP and with a Medicaid Waver there are presently 31 <br /> patients being kept at home who would be subject to institution- <br /> alization without the waver. There are 55 county residents <br /> presently receiving chore services under Title XX, and 84 on a <br /> waiting list. No new clients have received this service during <br /> the past twelve months because of the lack of funds. The at- <br /> risk group needing this service is growing yearly and their need <br /> needs to be addressed. Finally, Home Health of Chapel Hill <br /> provides the only not-for-profit nursing service in the county <br /> and is an important part of keeping people in their homes as <br /> well as an important part of this board's work. <br /> IMPACT: <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br />
