13C Total Cost: $21,900 Transportation Cost: -0- DROPOUT PREVENTION/JOB PLACEMENT CENTER The Center Projects are designed to provide trainin g and program g ram activities to in-school youth to prevent them from dropping out of school and to aid and enhance their transition from school into the Labor Market. Some of the activities and training to be provided youth in this project include: jobdevelopment, job research assistance, remedial education, skills traininng, and job counseling activities promoting education to work transition, provision of labor market (job) information, training to youth to helpllthem obtain and retain employment, services to improve access to acamedic, vocational, and remedial in-school programs available to students, career information regarding employment and training. The Center Projects, coordinated by the Department of Public Instruction, are located at Hillside High School and Southern High School in Durham and Orange High School in Orange County. The hours of operation varies during the school day. A counselor is housed on site during the school day. A total of forty-one (41) Orange County participants have been enrolled in the DOP Program between 07-01-85 and 12-31-85.
