12�? <br /> Total Cost: $10,192.52 <br /> Transportation Cost: $ 2,286.50 <br /> CLAIMS-CLERK or RETAIL SALES <br /> The Claims-Clerk and Retail Sales Customer Relations Program is <br /> designed to prepare the participant to work in sales and other customer <br /> related services. The Retail Sales participant receives training in <br /> communications, math, personal development, sales, customer relations, <br /> the operation of electronic calculators and electronic cash registers. <br /> The Claims participant receives the above training and ICD-9-CM, insurance <br /> terminology, and contract reading. 80% of the Retail Sales curriculum is <br /> applicable in training claims clerks. The emphasis on Retail Sales or <br /> Claims training is predicated on labor market information concerning the <br /> availability of jobs. <br /> A Retail Sales participant would be able to obtain various positions <br /> in the Retail Sales field. Claims participants would be able to obtain <br /> retail sales positions as well as Insurance Claims Clerk, Insurance <br /> Adjudicator or Insurance Cashier positions upon successful completion of <br /> the program. <br /> Claims Clerk & Retail Sales Customer Relations Applicants are: <br /> 1. determined eligible by in-house specialists <br /> 2. assessed for previous employment skills, education, <br /> goals/interests and barriers to employment <br /> 3. tested for academic skill level (TAKE) <br /> 4. interviewed and selected by a committee. This committee <br /> consists of the program instructor, the assigned program <br /> counsllelor and private sector employers in the Retail <br /> Sales field. <br /> This committee selects the top 20 applicants (15 for the initial class <br /> and 5 alternates) from each cycle based on the scores from the TAKE, <br /> and interview. <br /> This self-contained, 11 week program is held at the Chapel Hill Training <br /> Center. <br /> Transportation will be provided by JTPA. <br />
