This hearing will be conducted on the evening <br /> of March 25, 1986, 7:30 p.m. in the Superior Courtroom, <br /> Hillsborough. <br /> The Board of Commissioners has requested that each of ' <br /> you be specifically invited to attend the hearing and provide <br /> comment regarding the measures your organization is willing <br /> to undertake to address the water shortage situation. In <br /> addition to stop gap measures to enhance existing supply, the <br /> Board will be interested in hearing what measures you would <br /> be willing to explore to help plan and finance the <br /> construction of a new water supply in the central portion of <br /> the County or from Jordan Lake. Questions which come to mind <br /> include: <br /> 1. What is the existing water consumption amount and <br /> pattern geographically? <br /> 2 . What areas should a new reservoir be expected to <br /> serve (i.e. only the Town of Hillsborough and <br /> Orange Alamance, OA customers in the Cape Fear <br /> Basin, OWASA service area customers as well, <br /> other)? <br /> 3. How much capacity will each jurisdiction wish to <br /> have reserved for its service area? <br /> 4. How much capacity will need to be released for <br /> instream flow requirements of the State? <br /> 5. What overall size will be necessary? <br /> 6. How quickly should the new capacity be operational? <br /> 7. To what extent will a phasing of development be <br /> necessary in the meantime? <br /> 8. At what site or sites should water volume be <br /> located? <br /> 9. How should it be financed? <br />
