pa's . .
History y aid Philosophy 8
o
Use of the Land v
There are minimal restrictions on the
type of house construction, style, or cost.
Houses and other construction must meet
community as well as county, state, and ;-y
federal health and safety standards with
regard to plumbing, wiring, septic tanks and 1,• -i the like. Buildings must be located so as to
preserve the land as it now appears as far as
possible. The community affirms a minimal
amount of roads, this probably precludes
individual driveways. Areas will be desig- -
nated for gardens, orchards, vineyards, lift
pastures, recreation, and community center.
Long Range Goals
We would like to construct dwellings —
including multi-family -- family could be
rented or sold at low cost to individuals or
families who could not afford the corn
munity. Some furnished apartments or
houses might be made available to tem- —
porary residents of the community.
At an early date we hope to construct
a community center which would include . VI. —
space for community tools, hobbies, crafts,
etc. The Center would have space for meet- `
ings, folk dancing, dinners, etc. Later, a
wi
young people's building might be construc-
ted. Eventually we would like to develop the
land as a resource for the larger community:
perhaps some kind of free school, study
center for youth and/or adults, retreat cen-
ter, half way house or whatever seems to be
useful and enhancing. -- - -
A-
.
