RESOLUTION <br /> WHEREAS, the amounts and varieties of unwanted household hazardous waste can <br /> have an adverse effect on the environment if not properly <br /> disposed; and <br /> WHEREAS, there is currently no organized effort being made to educate the <br /> public as to this danger or to provide an alternative to what is <br /> now improper disposal through local landfills, dumpsters, sewer, <br /> road ditches and privately-owned properties. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of Commissioners: <br /> 1. Endorses and encourages the undertaking of a Household <br /> Hazardous Waste Collection Project in Orange County to be <br /> undertaken in the Spring of 1986 through contract with the <br /> Triangle J Council of Governments. <br /> 2. Supports payment of project costs through verified receipts <br /> for an amount not to exceed $25,000 and be drawn from the <br /> Landfill Reserve Fund held on behalf of Orange County, <br /> Chapel Hill and Carrboro and administered by Chapel Hill. <br /> 3.
