00161 <br /> In addition to land provided or dedicated for active <br /> recreation purposes , sufficient area shall be provided <br /> to make available a minimum of five (5) off-street <br /> parking spaces for the first two (2) acres of each <br /> recreation site and one (1) space for each additional <br /> acre thereafter. <br /> Where any of the following facilities are also <br /> provided, off-streets parking as required shall be <br /> provided in addition to the general standard above. <br /> Swimming pool One (1) space for each <br /> five ( 5) patrons <br /> Soccer and ball fields Eight (8) spaces per <br /> acre <br /> Tennis/handball courts Two ( 2) spaces per <br /> court <br /> Picnic Shelter area One ( 1 ) space for each <br /> ten (10) patrons. <br /> Each off-street , parking space shall be a minimum of <br /> nine ( 9) feet in width and eighteen (18) feet in <br /> length. A minimum back-up aisle of twenty four (24) <br /> feet in width shall be provided for access to and from <br /> each space. Bay parking is prohibited, and entrance <br /> to and exit from each parking area shall be by forward <br /> motion of the vehicle. One ( 1) of the parking spaces <br /> provided must be barrier-free and identified for use <br /> by individuals with physical disabilities . <br /> Handicapped spaces shall be at least twelve (12) feet <br /> in width and shall be designed as follows : <br /> (a) So that handicapped individuals are not <br /> compelled to wheel or walk behind parked <br /> cars : <br /> (b) So that handicapped individuals can get into <br /> and out of an automobile unto a level <br /> surface, suitable for wheeling and walking; <br /> and <br /> (c) In conjunction with sidewalk cut-sways <br /> and/or ramps , not exceeding five percent <br /> (5%) slope. <br /> IV-B-7-b-5.
