ORDER <br /> DECLARING CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF OLD CEDAR GROVE ROAD <br /> ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> WHEREAS a petition for the closure of a public road known as <br /> Old Cedar Grove Road was presented to the Orange County Board <br /> of Commissioners by the petitioners Robert and Rachel <br /> Scholar , and <br /> WHEREAS the petition stated that the road so known as Old <br /> Cedar Grove Road and more specifically shown on a plat <br /> entitled PROPERTY OF ROBERT SCHOLAR AND RACHAEL SCHOLAR as <br /> surveyed by ENT Land Surveys and dated November 5, 1984 <br /> is now abandoned, and <br /> WHEREAS the portion of the said abandoned road that the <br /> petitioner desires to be closed is more particularly <br /> described' as follows : <br /> Beginning at an iron stake located in the center of the <br /> right-of-way to Dixie Drive at the point where the <br /> center of said right-of-way intersects the western line <br /> of property of Orange County; running thence with the <br /> western property line of Orange County the following <br /> courses and distances : North 28 53 ' 21" West 156. 05' ; <br /> North 22 1?' 16"West 122 . 70' ; North 8 32 ' 16" West 109. 73 ' <br /> and North 27 31 ' 00" West 94, 46 ' . <br /> Also that portion of said road described as follows : <br /> Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot #1 of Block B <br /> Highland Woods as shown on plat recorded in Plat Book <br /> 15 , 'Page 178, Orange County Registry; runing thence <br /> North 33 17' 38" West 299, 74 feet to an iron stake; <br /> running thence North 13 24 ' 04" West 635.02 feet to an <br /> iron I stake; running thence North 04 57 ' 19" West 82 . 53 <br /> feet , and <br /> WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution lution on <br /> December 17, 1985, and reaffirmed January 21 , 1986, which <br /> declared its intent to close the public road and called a <br /> public hearing on the question, and <br /> WHEREAS a public hearing on the proposed closure of a portion <br /> of Old Cedar Grove Road was conducted on February 18, 1986 <br /> and the Board of Commissioners found that the closure of the <br /> public road is not contrary to the public interest and that <br /> no individual owning property in the vicinity of the road <br /> would thereby be deprived of reasonable means of ingress and <br /> egress to his property, <br /> IT IS HEREBY ORDERED by the Board of Commissioners of Orange <br /> County that the portion of Old Cedar Grove Road herein <br /> described be closed and all right , title and interest in the <br /> road be vested in persons owning adjacent lots or parcels and <br />
