3
I
Frank Porter Graham - Section 4 Intermediate Building
This asphalt 1 and gravel roofing assembly is in the same general
condition as 'Buildings No. 1 and 2.
The flashings need attention along with some caulking on the glass
windows at the access door to the roof.
It would be Money well invested to restore this section of roof
since its overall condition is the same as Buildings No. 1 and 2.
The budget for this building is $12,600.00.
Estes Hills Elementary School
Buildings A and B along with the walkway have been torn off and
replaced withla new single-ply modified bitumen system.
New metal gravel stops and gutters have been installed on sections
C, D, E, and F. All flashings have also been installed on these
sections . The roof mat is in good condition and will need to be
restored at some time in the future on these sections. This would
be money wellspent, since the roof life can be extended six (6 )
to eight (8) years.
Seawell Elementary School - Multipurpose, Pod 1, Walkways
These roofs seem to be in fair condition. There is shingles on the
slopped portion with asphalt and gravel.
These roofs will probably give a number more years of service with
preventative maintenance being accomplished.
It will then be necessary to replace the shingles and do an overlay
with modifiedl bitumen.
Chapel Hill High School
Cafeteria and Gymnasium roof have been reroofed and/or restored.
Vocational Building roof has been repaired as far as any visible
blisters and cracks . A new metal cap was installed around the
perimeter. The vertical flashings were repaired and aluminized.
This roof system will probably give four to five more years of
service provided preventative maintenance is accomplished each year.
Cultural Arts Building
There is some repair work that is being done on the vertical flash-
ings on the lower roofs . The roofing surfaces seem to be in fairly
good order. These roofs should give a number more years of service
with preventative maintenance being done.
