There appears to be some deterioration of
the gypsum deck in this area of the roof. The extent of damage can
only be determined by tearing off the bur on this portion of roof
and then replacing the damaged gypsum and perimeter wood nailer
and metal. Two additional drains also need to be installed to
alleviate future problems .
The flashingson the remainder of the roof need to be re-done and
considering the age of the building (constructed 1962) and a new
flood coat and gravel installed after proper patching is accomplished.
The budget for this building is $30,000.00.
Frank Porter Graham - Section 2 Administration Building
This roof assembly is gypsum light weight concrete with 5-ply of
asphalt felt and asphalt flood coat with gravel.
The overall condition of this roof is the same as Building No. 1.
Perimeter flashings are in need of attention along with the vertical
flashings on the roof-top equipment. The pitch pan on the southeast
corner is in need of attention.
Considering that the age of this building is the same as Building 1 ,
it would be money well invested to restore this roof after proper
repairs.
The budget for this building is $27 ,000.00.
Frank Porter Graham - Section 3 Multipurpose Building
This is the newest building on the campus. It is a asphalt and
gravel roofing assembly. There is a fair amount of blistering that
has begun to occur. These seem to be inter-ply blisters. The
flashings seem to be in fairly good condition except for some minor
repair work that needs to be done.
This roof should give a number more years service if the repairs are
accomplished. At some time down the road a new overlay single-ply
will need to be installed.
