C. 27514 <br /> Dear Don: <br /> I am writing in accordance with the discussion which took place at <br /> 1 budget time regarding the ABC Board's denial of our request for continued <br /> funds for the Halfway House for Alcoholics. At my budget presentation I <br /> indicated I would approach the Commissioners again in January, 1986 for <br /> assistance: <br /> This denial is borne out in the attached copy of a letter from Mr. <br /> Benton Efland dated July 8, 1985. <br /> As a result. of this denial the Halfway House has had to cut back but <br /> will still experience a deficit in the current year of about $6,000 unless <br /> we obtain increased funding. <br /> You will recall that an additional five cents on the bottle of liquor <br /> tax passed last year, and Orange County elected to put those funds in the <br /> County Gene',ral Fund. <br /> If you would like for me and members of my staff, along with the Chair- <br /> man of the Halfway House Board, to attend a Commissioner's meeting to discuss <br /> this further, please let me know. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> difg <br /> William F.
