X501 <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER: <br /> YES Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham -- 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: TO consider raising the ceiling for services under Section D of <br /> the Engineering Agreement. <br /> NEED: The amendment is needed in order to determine more precisely: <br /> 1. The amount and location of subsurface rock. <br /> 2. Property ownership where boundary lines and land titles are <br /> not clear. The property tax maps and the property lines in <br /> some cases do not agree. In other cases deeds are not clear <br /> as to property lines. In order to obtain rights-of-way and <br /> easements any ownership questions most be resolved. <br /> IMPACT: Presently. the agreement allows a ceiling of up to $16.000 for <br /> survey work with the stipulation that the amount should be <br /> amended if surveys are required. The additional cost is esti- <br /> mated to be $141000. This could be approved by changing the <br /> ceiling amount under Section D to $30,000 with the funds payable <br /> from the project contingency fund. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> Approve raising the Section D ceiling for survey work to $30.000 <br /> subject to Farmers Home approval. <br /> II <br />
