It is our understanding that the one criterion for qualifying <br /> students will be based on their school lunch status, free or part pay; and, the <br /> second criterion has to do with providing opportunities for needy youths which <br /> could not be provided without these funds. <br /> — <br /> (1) In our two Junior High Schools and the Senior High School there are <br /> approximately 70 qualifying students who may need to attend summer <br /> school to take and pass certain courses, which they have failed <br /> during the regular school year, in order to be promoted to the next <br /> grade. The tuition cost is $50.00 per course for Junior High students <br /> and $100 per unit for Senior High School students. We will not know <br /> the exact number of students who will need this support until the <br /> report cards are issued at the end of this semester. ___ -•-- - _______ <br /> (2) A secondary problem has to do with bus transportation to the summer <br /> school site at the Senior High School . Since bus transportation will <br /> not be provided by the school system, transportation for those who <br /> have no other means will also be needed.
