ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION: This node situated between the two intersections
with N.C. 54 and encompasses both intersections within its area. Existing
uses in the node area include a combination gasoline station and small
grocery store. There are no environmental constraints. This node cur-
rently has only limited community or commercial type uses. However, it
possesses locational attributes which make it a suitable Rural Community
node. It is located at the intersection of an important and well traveled
east-west road with two important north-south routes. This location is
near an area to the northeast of the node (between Orange Grove Road and
Dodson's Crossroads South) that has been classified as Rural Residential.
As this resident1P-1 area develops it will have a need for support services
that could most appropriately be located at this node.
REFERENCE: BH-3, Haw River
LOCATION: Old Greensboro Highway (SR 1005) and Crawford Dairy Road (SR 1956).
PLAN CATEGORY: Rural Neighborhood
ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION: This node is located at the intersection of two
collector roads. Existing land uses at this location include a church and
a few residential uses. There are no environmental constraints. It was
determined that this node would be a good location for small scale limited
commercial use, such as a single-small grocery store to serve residents of
south-western Bingham, when and if a sufficient population density develops.
REFERENCE: BH-4, Frog Level
LOCATION: Orange Grove Road (SR 1006) and Dodson's Crossroads North (SR 1102).
PLAN CATEGORY: Rural Neighborhood
ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION: This node is located at the intersection of two
collector roads. Existing land uses include a commercial use, previously
used as a leather shop and an auto parts store. It is located on the
boundary of Cane Creek water supply watershed. It location in the north-
east section of the Township means it can serve the residents in that area
efficiently.
REFERENCE: EH-5, Oak Grove
LOCATION: Oak Grove Church Road (SR 1117) and Mt. Willing Road (SR 1120).
PLAN CATEGORY: Rural Neighborhood
ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION: This node is located at the intersection of two
collector roads. Existing land uses include a combination small store and
auction facility, a mobile home park and a retail meat outlet. It is
located in the fringe boundary area of the Cane Creek watershed. This site
is a good location to serve residents in the northwest section of Bingham
Tbwnship.
•,.F1
