floodplain along the Eno River are located north of 1-85 interchange
at this node. Therefore, industrial and commercial development should
be confined to the area south and east of this interchange.
REFERENCE: Eno 3, Duke Forest
LOCATION: U.S. 70, Old Number 10 and N.C. 751
PLAN CATEGORY: Commercial Transition
ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION: This node is located at the intersection of
three collector roads. It is bordered on the south by a main line of
the Southern Railroad. Existing land uses include commercial uses and
mobile home parks. The node is within Durham's 201 sewer planning area
and has Durham City water. A section of Duke Forest land abuts the inter-
change on the southern side of U.S. 70. Therefore, commercial development
at this node should be confined to the area north of U.S. 70 at the
intersection.
