113 <br /> -14- <br /> C. The Triangle J COG and the Health Systems Agency may each <br /> appoint one member from its own membership, <br /> D. Council members shall represent the interest of the entire <br /> region and shall, to best of their ability, vote for the best <br /> interest of the region as a whole. <br /> Section 2. The county voting membership of the Council shall consist <br /> of one member from each of the following: <br /> A. A member of the appropriate County EMS Council who may be <br /> either a provider or a consumer. <br /> B. A provider or consumer, whichever is not represented by the <br /> appointment from the County EMS Council, <br /> Note: A provider is a representative of one of the following <br /> groups: <br /> 1. Doctors <br /> 2. Nurses <br /> 3. Hospital Administrators <br /> 4, Public and Private Ambulance Providers <br /> 5, Rescue Squad Personnel <br /> A consumer is a person who does not provide or <br /> administer EMS, <br /> Section 3. Voting members shall have a term of office for two years <br /> with eligibility for reappointment. Voting members who miss three con- <br /> secutive meetings without prior approval may be replaced by the appoint- <br /> . <br /> ing body. <br /> Section 4. Each member appointing body is requested to appoint an <br /> alternate member for each regular appointment of the same provider, <br /> consumer category. Alternate members shall have full voting privileges <br /> in the absence of the regular member. Associate members as defined <br /> in Section 6, may be designated as alternate members. <br /> Section 5. The Council may recommend a replacement for a member to the <br /> appropriate appointing body when that member considers he can no longer <br /> continue to serve or when the member has missed three consecutive <br /> meetings. <br />
