/9 � �� <br /> 41,~ <br /> 1,, 04el <br /> Orange Soil and Water Conservation District <br /> 110 East King Street ' Hillsborough,North Carolina u,zrn - Phone(y1o)7uu.8}e1 <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> WHEREAS, the well-being of our people depends upon the production <br /> of ample supplies of food, fiber, and other products of the soil; and <br /> WHEREAS, the quality and quantity of these products depend upon <br /> the conservation, wise and proper management of the soil and water <br /> resources; and <br /> WHEREAS, our people have a mutual interest in the land and share <br /> the responsibility of preserving its productivity; and <br /> WHEREAS, conservation districts provide a practical and democratic <br /> organization through which landowners are taking the initiative to <br /> conserve and make proper use of these resources; and <br /> WHEREAS, the conservation districts are carrying forward a program <br /> of soil and water conservation in cooperation with numerous agencies <br /> and countless individuals; <br /> - NOW, THEREFORE, I, in full appreciation of the value of the soil <br /> to the public welfare, and desiring to honor those who protect it, do <br /> hereby proclaim May 24 - 31, 1981 SOIL STEWARDSHIP WEEK in the County <br /> of Orange. <br /> IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and the Great Seal of the <br /> COUNTY OF ORANGE to be affixed. <br /> .
