Zoning. The Board of Commissioners of <br /> Orange County, in addition to the authority conferred upon it <br /> by any general or local law, is hereby empowered by ordinance <br /> to regulate in any portion or portions of the Orange County <br /> zoning jurisdiction the uses of buildings and structures for <br /> trade, industry, residence, recreation, public activity or <br /> other purpose, and the uses of land for trade, industry, <br /> residence , recreation , agriculture, water supply <br /> conservation, soil conservation, forestry or other purpose. <br /> For any or all of these purposes, the County may, <br /> in addition to the express authority and power conveyed to it <br /> by Part 3, Article is of Chapter 153A of the North Carolina <br /> General Statutes, provide for the creation of planned <br /> development districts and special use districts in addition <br /> to general use districts.
