' 3'12 <br /> r)OUU/\ <br /> AGENDA ATTACHMENT 5 <br /> AGENDA ATTACHMENT <br /> The County's Budget as presented to the Board for fiscal year <br /> 1980-81 carried funds for a Veterans Service Officer. On June 30th <br /> the position was vacant; however, a part-time secretary was staffing <br /> the office. The Board removed from the final Budget funds for the <br /> Veterans Service Officer position and requested a study be done to <br /> determine whether or not the Office should be continued. This <br /> study was conducted by three graduate students at UNC School of <br /> Public Administration and completed in Mid-March. The study con- <br /> cluded it would not be economically or socially justifiable to close <br /> down this office in Orange County. <br /> Enclosed is a copy of the report for your review. <br />
