The Charter of the Town of Chapel Hill, <br /> 6 being Chapter 473 , Session Laws of 1975, AS amended : by <br /> 7- adding a new section to read: <br /> 8 "Sec. 6. 3 . Authority to Require Sprinklers <br /> 9 Notwithstanding any provision of the State Building Cc <br /> 16 or any public or loCal law to the contrary, the Town Counci <br /> 11 of the Town of Chapel Hill is authorized -to require by <br /> 12 ordinance the inclusion of sprinklers in all buildings in <br /> 13 excess of 50 feet in height constructed within the corporat <br /> 14 limits of the Town of Chapel Hill after the effective date <br /> 15 said ordinance. " <br /> 16 Secl 7. (a) Section 2.1 (c) of the Charter of the <br /> 17 Town of, Chape Hill (Section 2. 2 (c) under local revision <br /> 18 pursuant to G S. 160A-496) is rewritten to read: <br /> 19 " (c) The mayor shall be elected at biennial elections <br /> 20 for a term of two years subject to the provisions of Section <br /> 21 of this Chart r. No person shall be eligible to be elected <br /> 22 to mayor for more than four successive two year terms. <br /> 23 <br /> (b) Thi section shall become effective beginning with <br /> 24 <br /> the 1983 municipal elerdon.
