Mr. Polatty opened the meeting with a brief review of the Township
Land Use Plan.
The residents of the Township who reside near the intersection of
Highway 86 and Old #10 (SR 1710) presented a memo with recommendations
concerning the Land Use Plan and proposed zoning in their area (see
attachment) . A major concern was the proposed zoning of the convenience
store, concrete plant, storage building, and warehouse located on SR 1710.
Mr. Polatty stated that under the proposed zoning plan they are all zoned
commercial except for the storage building which is proposed residential.
The residents request that all of the above be zoned residential, therefore
making the concrete plant, convenience store, warehouse, and storage buildit
non-conformities. The residents did not want either to expand. As a result
three votes were made on their recommendations:
- The Council accepts the notation relative to the Land Use Plan.
Moved by George Allison, seconded, and unanimous approval received.
- The Council accepts the notation relative to the Zoning Ordinance
stating that zoning be changed from general commercial to residential
Moved by George Allison, seconded by Elizabeth Cheek, unanimous
approval received.
- The Council wishes the node (HB-5) on page 14 be deleted because
I-40 has not been built. Moved by Brian Dodge, seconded by Wendy
Olson, unanimous approval received.
