MEMO TO: Sam Gattis FROM: Rick Cannityff, DATE: January 29, 1981 SUBJECT: Fee Schedule Analysis and Recommendation There are several conditions that may dramatically change some of the numbers indicated in this memo.* If the County Commissioners should extend zoning to un- zoried townships the number of rezonings and zoning permits would increase some- what over those shown on the following pages. Cases going before the Board of Adjustment would also increase not only because of the greater number of zoned townships but also because of the larger number of special uses. The number of subdivisions varies each year depending on the fluctuations in the economy. The Planning Staff feels that the division of land through the minor subdivision process should not be encouraged. Overall planning for the County is easier with major subdivision covering larger tracts of land. The staff recommends that requests for interpretation of the new ordinance to theoloard of Adjustment or requests for rezonings in the presently unzoned townships not be charged a fee. After the adoption of the new ordinance the following fees could be established. SUMMARY OF REVENUES TO COSTS Total Current Planning Costs: $ 67,815.00 Total Cost (January, 1981) of fee generating Jobs: 26,622.00 Total Annual Revenues with all Proposed Fees: 15,845.00 (Based on 1980 Activity) Total Annual Revenues with all Proposed Fees: 14,295.00 (Based on 1979 Activity) Total Annual Revenues with all Proposed Fees: 23,070.00 (Based on 1981 estimates including 5 zoned Townships) Total Annual Revenues with only Recommended Fees: 19,770.00 (Based on 1981 estimates including 5 zoned Townships) /le
