GOAL SIXTEEN: An efficient and effective system of public safety <br /> for Orange County Citizens <br /> Draft Policies : <br /> 16. 1 Site design standards for residential, commercial <br /> and industrial development will include road design <br /> standards to ensure adequate emergency vehicle access. <br /> 16. 2 All state roads in the County should receive non- <br /> duplicated names to be posted on signs at intersection <br /> and all houses will be numbered in order to improve <br /> the response time by emergency vehicles . <br /> GOAL SEVENTEEN: A land use planning process which is responsive to <br /> the citizens and communities of Orange County <br /> Draft Policies : <br /> 17.1 There will be a comprehensive effort to inform and <br /> involve County citizens in the Land Use planning <br /> process . The basic components of this process in- <br /> clude : regular and special public hearings ; direct <br /> citizen input to the Board of County Commissioners <br /> and Planning Board; special citizen task forces and <br /> committees to work on certain problems ; and the Town- <br /> ship Advisory Councils to advise the Planning Board <br /> on land use planning matters . It will also include <br /> a systematic effort to inform and notify the general <br /> public through special news features as well as <br /> public meeting notices in newspapers of local circu- <br /> lation. <br />
