This will be accomplished, in part, <br /> by modifying land development regulations to eliminate <br /> impediments to the introduction of more energy-efficient <br /> design and construction. <br /> 3.2 Encourage energy-efficient industry to locate or ex- <br /> pand in the County in the appropriately designated <br /> land use plan districts. <br /> 3.3 Public buildings and public housing should be designed, <br /> sited and constructed to conserve energy and use non- <br /> polluting renewable energy sources when economically <br /> feasible. <br /> GOAL FOUR: Development of renewable sources of energy <br /> Draft Policies: <br /> 4.1 Facilitate use of non-polluting renewable sources of <br /> energy by removing local administrative and legal <br /> barriers to their installation and use. <br /> 4.2 Develop educational and public information programs <br /> to increase awareness of the potential for the de- <br /> sign, construction and rehabilitation of commercial <br /> and residential structures. <br /> CATEGORY: GROWTH <br /> GOAL FIVE: Direct growth to those areas where growth is desirable <br /> and suitable to accomadate it <br /> Draft Policies: <br /> 5.1 The following suitability criteria will be used to <br /> determine the best location for various land uses: <br /> natural environmental constraints (land slope, hydrology, <br /> flora and fauna, soil conditions) , availability of <br />
