U. <br /> The estimate, then, of the Town's capacity for additional population growth <br /> is 47,431 persons. (17,185 multiplied 4 the average household size of 2.76 <br /> persons per household. ) Therefore the projected 1980-2000 population growth <br /> which will not be accommodate within the Town's planning area (spillOver) is <br /> 5,450 persons. (Projected township population growth of 52,881 minus 47,431 ) . <br /> This spillover growth translates into 2, 172 acres of land needed outside the <br /> town 's jurisdiction. (5450 divided by averaoe household size of 2.76, then <br /> multiplied by 1 .1 to account for non-residential growth associated with <br /> residential growth including institutional , commercial , utilities and non-resi- <br /> dential streets. ) The results of these calculations are as follows: <br /> Projected low-density development acreage in rural sections <br /> of Township: 1 ,797 acres <br /> Projected "Spillover" development from Towns planning <br /> areas: 2,172 acres <br /> Total 3,969 acres <br /> The task, therefore is to geographicallj allocate the 2,172 acres of spillover <br /> growth to the Township outside the urban planning areas.
