This area extends into Bingham Township from Chapel Hill
Township generally coinciding with the boundaries of the University Lake
watershed. The purpose for this classification is to designate land near or
within the urbanizing area of Chapel Hill and Carrboro that should remain
rural in character and not require urban-type services. C, Highway 54 and Orange Chapel Clover Garden Road (BH-1 )
Plan Category: Rural Commercial
Analysis and Evaluation: This node is located at the intersection of an
arterial road and a collector road. Existing commercial in the vicinity of
this node include: 2 auto gas-service stations, an auto parts firm, a wholesale
mail -order distribution firm and a vacant store. There are no environmental
