Three Activity Nodes have been designated in Eno Township. All are along <br /> U. S. 70. One is classified as a Rural Commercial Node, one is a Commercial <br /> Transition Node and one is an Industrial Transition Node. The following is a <br /> description of these nodes. <br /> Location: U. S. 70 Business/U.S. 70 By-Pass -;:/ke0 -( <br /> lliff1074-0?a <br /> Plan Category: Rural a441 <br /> Analysis and Evaluation: This node is located at the intersection of an <br /> arterial (U. S. 70 By-Pass) and a collector road (U. S. 70 Business) . Palmer's <br /> Grove Church Road intersects By-Pass 70 at this intersection. Two commercial <br /> uses are currently located in the vicinity of this node. No environmental <br /> constraints hinder commercial development in the area of this node. <br /> : ss — •1 s 6re' 73wia-r64,:`41. <br /> Plan Category: Commercial Transition/ ' . . . 1 2 <br /> Analysis and Evaluation: This node is located at the intersection of two major <br /> highways. It is also serviced by a spur of the Southern Railroad. The area of <br /> the node has existing commercial uses. The node is located within Durham's 201 <br /> sewer planning area. Durham City water is within 4000 feet of this node. <br /> There are a minimum of residential uses located in the area. A section of the <br /> Eno River State Park as well as floodplain along the Eno River are located north <br /> of 1-85 interchange at this node. Therefore industrial and commercial development <br /> should be confined to the south and east of this interchange. <br /> Location: U. S. 70, Old Number 10 and N. C. 751 8A47 5 <br /> Plan Category: Commercial Transition <br /> Analysis and Evaluation: This node is located at the intersection of three <br /> collector roads. It is bordered on the south by a main line of the Southern <br /> Railroad. Existing land uses include commercial uses and mobile home parks. <br /> The node is within Durham's 201 sewer planning area and has Durham City water. <br /> A section of Duke Forest land abutts the interchange on the southern side of <br /> U. S. 70. Therefore, commercial development at this node should be confined to <br /> north of U. S. 70 at the intersection. <br />
