Agenda Item #4 <br /> Chore Service Funding <br /> As requested by the Board at its December 1st meeting the staff has reviewed <br /> in some detail possible solutions to this problem. The Social Services Director <br /> has already reduced the spending level of the program to about $14,000 monthly. <br /> I recommend this Board authorize the $5,000 transfer from personnel to Chore <br /> Services requested by the Board of Social Services but that no action be taken on <br /> their request for an appropriation from the Contingency Fund or transfer of daytare <br /> funds at this time. During January the Social Services Director will request a <br /> $15,000 reallocation from the state and should have a good idea of their response. <br /> The Finance Director will have a response to her inquiry concerning a carry-over of <br /> May Chore Service bills into the state's next fiscal years budget, and the Social <br /> Service Board will have had a chance to react to these two decisions. <br /> It is not advisable to postpone a final decision on this issue beyond January <br /> as future program reductions would be too drastic if both responses from the state <br /> were negative. <br />
