SUBJECT: Jobs Training Partnership Act • I As 'you know the State JTPA office is asking each county in North Carolina to - take a fresh look at how it wants to participate in the JTPA program. The decision rests with each county as to which other counties. it should align • . itself with in carrying out this program. The Council of Governments is currently operating the planning aspects of the JTPA programs for Lee and Chatham counties. If you think it would be - in Orange County's best interest to align itself with these two _counties, we would be pleased to discuss this with you. There will be a )1r eeting on Tuesday, November 19 at 6 p.m. in Slier City at which time the Director of the State JTPA program will explain various options availablle tq the counties in North Carolina. I am attaching material about the meeting and about- the program •in general . • My understanding is that each county will need to make •a decision on this matter in early1December. .
