Willboit noted that the line separating the two planning <br /> jurisdictions generally followed the railroad track, Homestead Road, Rogers <br /> Road, Eubanks Road and the landfill boundaries. <br /> Morgan requested that Carrboro be directly involved in the process of <br /> developing subsequent meetings and expressed a desire to host every other <br /> meeting or every third meeting. With reference to the extraterritorial area, <br /> he feels that 1Carrboro, Chapel Hill and the County should meet and decide <br /> what is best for all communities. <br /> Commissioners Marshall and Carey both emphasized the importance of <br /> working together and including Carrboro in the joint planning area. <br /> Chair Willhoit requested that the Orange County Planning Board work with <br /> the Carrboro Planning Board to bring them up to date on developments that have <br /> taken place since the public information meeting. CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF ON) =AR GROVE map <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Marshall, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Lloyd to adopt the resolution printed below declaring the intent to close the <br /> described portion of Old Cedar Grove Road and set a Public Hearing date on the <br /> road closing foebruary 3. 1986 in accordance with the procedures as <br /> in <br /> outlined the (general Statutes and at no cost to the County. <br /> REcuEsli TQ =SE AN AWWD-RD <br /> The undersigned. ROBERT SCHOLAR and wife, RACHEL SCHOLAR. petition <br /> the Orange County Board of Commissioners as follows: <br /> That there is shown on a certain plat entitled PROPERTY OF ROBERT <br /> SCHOLAR AND RACHEL SCHOLAR as surveyed by Land Surveys. dated November 5. <br /> 1984, a copy of which is attached hereto. a certain road which is now <br /> abandoned. and designated on said plat as "Old Cedar Grove Road"; and whereas <br /> said "Old Cedar Grove Road" as shown on said plat runs along the border of <br /> said property of the undersigned; and whereas said abandoned road is no longer <br /> used for vehicular traffic or for other purposes; that to permanently close <br /> that portion of "Cid Cedar Grove Road" more particularly described hereinafter <br /> would not be contrary to the public interest, and that no person, firm, <br /> corporation or inaividual owning property in the vicinity of said "Old Cedar <br /> Grove Road" wouldlbe deprived of a reasonable means of ingress and egress to <br /> his property by the closing of such portion of said road; that it is to the <br /> best interest of the Petitioner and the general public that said abandoned <br /> road be closed and that the petitioner herein is the only owner of any <br /> property abuttingisaid road; <br /> "'N the undersigned respectfully requests that the Orange <br /> County Board of COmmissioners adopt a resolution closing that part of the said <br /> abandoned road as hereinafter described permanently, pursuant to North <br /> Carolina General Statutes Section 153A-241 and 160&-299.
