North Carolina. <br /> 021306100$1...MEMEL Chair Don Willhoit and Commissioners Shirley <br /> Marshall, Moses Carey, Jr., Ben Lloyd and Norman Walker. <br /> ATTORNEY *Si!: Geoffrey Gledhill. <br /> STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Kenneth R. Thompson. Director of Finance <br /> Gordon Baker. Clerk to the Board Beverly A. Blythe. Director of Planning <br /> Marvin Collins and Lands Record Manager Roscoe Reeve. <br /> 16-----3"—gaU1 a <br /> Commissioner Lloyd requested he be notified before Special Meetings are <br /> arranged. Chair 1Willhoit indicated that efforts to contact him had been made <br /> and will continue to be made for all future special meetings. <br /> Chair Willhoit noted that he and Ken Thompson attended a luncheon <br /> honoring thirteen Agricultural Extension agents in North Carolina. Bonnie <br /> Davis of the local office was honored and received a 83,000 cash award. She <br /> had previously received a national award for her service. Ken Thompson noted <br /> that the Orangelcounty Agricultural Extension Agency had been rated the <br /> highest of the seventeen agencies in this region which certainly indicates a <br /> department effort. <br /> $. MATTER ON THE PRINTED AGENDA <br /> Chair Willhoit announced that those persons in the audience who <br /> would like to make comments on specific items on the agenda will be recognized <br /> at the appropriate time. <br /> • JJ *ziko II <br /> Attorney Geoffrey Gledhill asked to add to the agenda an executive <br /> session to discus e litigation. <br /> C. MIY1ES <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded by Commissioner Carey to <br /> approve the minutes for December 2. 1985 as corrected. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br /> D ahoisik- <br /> None. <br /> Commissioner Marshall on behalf of the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners and the citizens of Orange County presented to Chris Hogan and <br /> Robert Hogan. Jr. a resolution of appreciation for their courage and concern <br /> for others. The resolution is printed in full below: <br /> RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION <br /> FOR <br /> CHRIS HOGAN AND ROBERT HOGAN. JR. <br /> WHEREAS Chris Hogan and Robert Hogan Jr. were on October 1. 1985 busy <br /> about their normal workaday business of farming. and <br /> WHEREAS, their activities in the field were interrupted by the sound of <br /> an airplane in trouble and its subsequent crash. and <br /> WHEREAS, these two young men without hesitation raced to the crash scene <br /> to investigate and to give whatever aid was needed. and <br />
