20 <br />CHAPTER 3 <br />PROVIDER RELATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT <br />Mission Statement <br />The mission of the Provider Relations function of OPC LME is',to`de~elop and maintain <br />a comprehensive provider community and to offer all necessary information and support <br />to that community in order to facilitate the shared,!goal, of. improving consumer <br />outcomes. <br />Purchaser Standards <br />OPC Area Program is currently in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal <br />statutes and rules, or will dedicate resources to the correction of any known or identified <br />deficiencies. <br />Current Ouerations ~t <br />The Provider Relations function of OPC is carried. out~~ by staff members of the Quality <br />Improvement/Provider Relations Department In addition to performing the Quality <br />Management function (see Chapter 6), this department focuses on provider community <br />development and management, including technical assistance, accreditation, <br />credentialing,: _endorsement, and oversight and monitoring of all external contract and <br />catchment area providers. <br />;, <br />Pro`viderDe elopment ~~` <br />,~ <br />For many yews,.,, prior to, divestiture, OPC maintained a large network of contract <br />providers to complement%~the services provided by the Area Program. In fact, prior to <br />divestiture up to '4~7%, of OPC's annual budget was dedicated to provider contracts. <br />However, with the advent of divestiture and the introduction of new service definitions <br />and endorsement tSrocedures, OPC has seen an exponential growth in the provider <br />community. OPC is fortunate to have a comprehensive community of providers that <br />provide over 100 different services, including all seven best practice models. These <br />include; Assertive Community Treatment Team, Community Support/Community <br />Support Team, Psycho-Social Rehabilitation, Intensive In-Home, Multi-Systemic <br />Therapy, Substance Abuse Intensive Out-Patient and Substance Abuse <br />Comprehensive Out-Patient Treatment. Even so, OPC continues to monitor community <br />needs to gauge unmet needs. Provider Relations staff work in conjunction with the <br />20 <br />
