My first task is to take these alternatives and to create a set of designs <br /> that can be reviewed and approved.Because toilet design,particularly in NC is a political and <br /> personal issue,we need to anticipate that some additional changes to whatever we do may be <br /> necessary. My proposal will try to accommodate alternative designs and allow for a final revision <br /> before preparing construction documents.Below is a more detailed breakdown of what I see to <br /> successfully accomplish the goal. <br /> PRIORITY AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Below listed by order of importance are five projects that either need new accessible unisex toilets or <br /> modifications to existing toilets or spaces.Orange County anticipates a final design review and <br /> construction of all work as one project awarded to a single general contractor through the informal <br /> bid process.The intent of this proposal is to provide working designs,construction documents to <br /> meet the NC Building Codes and to provide contract administration. <br /> Rogers Community Center 101 Edgar St,Chapel Hill,NC 27516 <br /> Convert existing space to accessible unisex toilet by utilizing the closet off main meeting <br /> room with door into hall across from existing toilets:includes signage. <br /> Animal Services 1601 Eubanks Road,Chapel Hill <br /> Convert existing space to accessible unisex toilet near existing toilets by utilizing the closet <br /> off hall to main conference room:include signage <br /> Solid Waste 1207 Eubanks Road,Chapel Hill <br /> Convert existing space to accessible unisex toilet either in closet space immediately adjacent to <br /> existing toilets or by using space in entry lobby:include signage. <br /> R.E.Whitted Building 300 West Tryon Street,Hillsborough <br /> Install wall,door,lighting,signage&baby changing station on 2nd floor Rm#212 serving <br /> public meeting facilities.Remaining restrooms for Whitted that are set up as single occupancy,only <br /> need to update signage and install baby changing stations for(3)in Dental Clinic. <br /> Cedar Grove Community Center 5800 Hwy,Hillsborough <br /> Provide for access to existing accessible toilet through Kitchen area by creating new hallway <br /> and/or providing signage. <br /> SPECIFIC WORK TO BE PROVIDED <br /> EXISTING CONDITIONS <br /> Work begins with preparation of existing conditions CAD drawings for each of the five sites. The <br /> initial site review was for general design parameters at each site and not a detailed existing conditions <br /> documentation. We will prepare existing conditions drawings based on the CAD files provided.Additional <br /> information and verification of the CAD drawings will be verified as necessary. <br />
