Follow- <br /> ing the NCDOT suggestion of brevity in this section of the planning <br /> document, the Consultant will rely on secondary sources, such as existing <br /> land use plans, census reports, and regional economic forecasts in the <br /> preparation of this overview. Maps will be prepared of the study area <br /> location and major centers of population. <br /> Task 3: Inventory of Existing Transportation Services <br /> (TDP Steps 4 through 7) <br /> The Consultant will update the inventory of available ground passenger <br /> transportation 4ervices in Orange County, describing the operating charac- <br /> teristics, vehicles, routes, schedules, facilities, revenues and expenses, <br /> and ridership for these providers (to the extent possible). The task will <br /> be divided into'several subtasks, with each subtask addressing a different <br /> transportation mode. <br /> Subtask 3.1—hrventory Chapel Hill Transit. The Consultant will inven- <br /> tory and report Chapel Hill Transit's (CHT) route design, individual route <br /> and schedule information, current public and elderly/handicapped fare poli- <br /> cies, E-Z Rider services, hours of service by route, and summarize recent <br /> ridership history. A roster of existing transit vehicles will be obtained <br /> and information regarding other capital facilities, such as the CHT <br /> 2-3 <br />
