Lunsfordjrkintendent <br /> Orange County Schools <br /> REFERENCE: Project, Status - Orange High School Renovation/Expansion <br /> Approximately one year ago, on December 3, 1984, the Orange County <br /> Board of Education formally discussed with the Commissioners an updated <br /> facilities imroverent plan. As a result of that discussion and others <br /> in the spring of 1985, we have accomplished a great deal. The basis of <br /> that discussion was anima (dated 11/26/84) to the Board of Commissioners <br /> which outline(. the necessary steps to accomplish major improvements in <br /> the facilities of the Orange County Schools. <br /> At this meeting of the Commissioners on December 2, 1985, we wish <br /> to report to pu on our work and to express our sincere appreciation for <br /> the support o our efforts. <br /> At this ppint, the Orange High expansion/renovation is moving ahead <br /> in a timely manner as follows: <br /> 1) J. Hyatt Hammond Associates, Inc., of Greensboro, was hired <br /> as the architectural firm for the project. <br /> 2) Educational program specifications are fully completed. <br /> 3) Schematic design phase is fully completed. <br /> 4) Design development is 98 percent complete. <br /> The next phases necessary to net our timeline of summer, 1987, are <br /> as follows: <br /> 1) Canplete construction drawings and specifications in <br /> early 11986. <br /> 2) Advertise for bids and let contracts in March, 1986. <br />
