• <br /> 008 <br /> HOME CARE WEEK <br /> WHEREAS, in a time of greater. awareness of the cost of <br /> medical care, more attention is being place on home health care; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, with the provision of special follow-up care, <br /> earlier discharge from institutions is possible for many; and <br /> WHEREAS, through teaching in the home setting, the patient <br /> and family learn to attain maximum independence; and <br /> WHEREAS, patients are usually happier at home in a familiar <br /> place where the patient feels secure and contentment usually <br /> results in d better recovery; and <br /> WHEREAS, home health agencies provide skilled nursing care <br /> and other professional health services under a physician's <br /> supervision and may reduce the need for a more costly long term <br /> institutional care; now <br /> THEREFORE, I, Don Wilihoit, Chairman, Board of County <br /> Commissioner's, do hereby proclaim the week of December 1 through <br /> December 7, 1985 as, <br /> HOME CARE WEEK <br /> in Orange County, and encourage all citizens to recognize the <br /> importance olf home health care being provided to many elderly and <br /> disabled individuals in their homes, not only by professionals, <br /> but also by their families and loved ones. <br /> Don Wilihoit <br /> Chairman <br /> Board of County Commissioners <br />
