(3) LDA Nomination Form and related <br /> CHAPEL HILL - 967-9231 <br /> - attachments. <br /> MEBANE - 227-2031 <br /> DURHAM - 688-7331 <br /> . 4. <br /> - .. <br /> PURPOSE; <br /> "., <br /> For the Board to consider the nomination of the Orange County Arts Commission as the <br /> official Local Distributing Agent (LDA) for the County's Grassroots Arts Program Funds <br /> ':. <br /> as stated in Section 4, Item B in the resolution creating the orange Councy Arts <br /> Commission. <br /> fs. <br /> 1 <br /> , <br /> NEED: <br /> To allow for the decentralization of state grants decisions and to provide the Board <br /> an official organization to plan the distribution and expenditure of annual arts <br /> funding from the state. <br /> IMPACT: <br /> The organization will remain the official LDA until it no longer meets the standards set <br /> forth by the N. C. Arts Council (see attachment #2). The LDA will prepare an annual <br /> plan for local arts funding. After review and approval by the NC Arts Council, the <br /> Council will send the funds directly to the LDA for distribution as set forth in the <br /> plan. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> Authorize the chair to sign and return the nomination form to the County Liaison (Brian Cox) <br /> for the delivery to the N. C. Arts Council. <br />
