021 xr <br /> O R A N G E C O U N T Y <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date November 4. 1985 <br /> Action A ends <br /> Item #1-.2. <br /> SUBJECT: SCHEDULING OF SPECIAL PUBLIC HEARING <br /> aa' <br /> DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC HEARING Yes X No <br /> Attachment(s) <br /> NONE Information Contact : SUSAN SMITH <br /> fk <br /> Telephone Numbers <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Durham - 888-7331 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Chapel Hill - 988-4501 <br /> PURPOSE: To schedule a special public hearing on December 3, 1985. <br /> YM <br /> NEED: On October 19, 1985 the Board of Commissioners rescheduled the <br /> regularly scheduled quarterly public hearing for the Joint <br /> planning area from December 10, 1985 to January 14, 1985 to <br /> adecinmodate the request of the Town of Chapel Hill. <br /> The items originally scheduled for the December 10, 1985 public <br /> hearing included the Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan and a <br /> rezoning request. <br /> The Planning Staff and Planning Board Chairs are concerned <br /> about considering a development request at the same public <br /> hearing at which the Joint Planning Area Plan is to be <br /> considered and would prefer to separate these items. <br /> IMPACT: Scheduling of a second public hearing will add a meeting to the <br /> board's schedule, but would result in the devotion of the <br /> January public hearing to the Joint Planning Area Land Use <br /> Plan . <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Schedule a special public hearing on the rezoning request <br /> for December 3, 1985. <br />
