Seconded by Miller. <br /> PiLkey expressed a concern for future traffic in the <br /> area. Shanklin responded that Old NC 8H <br /> would <br /> 7r <br /> eventually need a Left turn lane but he feLt the <br /> developer was not responsible for the traffic generated <br /> and should not bear the cost of the improvements. Kizer <br /> noted he felt the project did generate the traffic <br /> problem, and it was the developer's responsibility to <br /> protect the residents. <br /> VOTE: Notion Amendment. <br /> In favor 10. . <br /> Opposed 1 (Shanklin} . <br /> Yuhasz questioned if there would be a recommendation to <br /> include open space in this subdivision if no open apace <br /> were provided. Smith responded no. Yuhasz continued, <br /> $' noting that the developer was providing open space when <br /> not required and was being asked to provide even more. <br /> Gordon stated there was nothing in the Subdivision <br /> Regulations to require open space in subdivisions, and <br /> Smith noted this was correct. <br /> Kizer inquired who was responsible for maintenance of <br /> open space. .
