PUBLIC HEARING COMMENTS <br /> AUGUST 26, 1985 <br /> Members of the Planning Board and the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners <br /> My name is Tom Chandler, president of Chandler Concrete. <br /> Your staff has reviewed with you my application for an <br /> Amendment of the Land Use Plan and rezoning of a 1.41 acres tract <br /> of land contiguous with my concrete company. <br /> The concrete plant has operated in substantially the same <br /> manner for thirteen years. In January it was <br /> brought to my attention by the Department of Environmental <br /> Management that a potential environmental problem exists relating <br /> to water run-off. The water run-off comes in part from washing <br /> of our concrete trucks and also from the natural run-off of rain <br /> water across the land. <br /> The reason the new application which is for only 1.41 acres <br /> is before you tonight is to ask your help in solving a <br /> significant problem. As you are aware, I purchased the property <br /> adjacent to my concrete plant in September 1984 . The purchase of <br /> the property resulted from my being contacted by the then owner <br /> of the property and asked if I was interested in the purchase. <br /> It is my understanding that the property would merge with the <br /> property on which my concrete company now exists.
