He asked if the town mold be willing <br /> to do a study of other sites also. <br /> Chair Willhoit stated the Town has proposed a specific project. <br /> The study will identify the County space needs and after receipt of the <br /> feasibility report, the County will then need to make a decision about their <br /> space needs. The County Manager and City Manager must both agree on the firm <br /> selected to assist in developing the report. <br /> Commissioners Marshall and Carey both endorsed the joint study <br /> proposal indicating it a good opportunity for the County to get a <br /> determination for the use of that property. <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Walker to authorize that the County join with Chapel Bill in undertaking a <br /> study of (a) each jurisdiction's space needs, and (b) the feasibility of using <br /> the Coluubia/Rosesnary site as a possible location for a future local <br /> government center and authorize the County Manager to participate with the <br /> Taal Manager in engaging a consulting firm to assist in developing a report on <br /> the options available, at a County cost not to exceed $6,000. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS. <br /> 5. JrMEzu1ya' . <br /> Commissioner Lloyd expressed concern for making the three additional <br /> positions in the Sheriff's office permanent and suggested making the positions <br /> temporary until budget time and then reevaluate the situation and, if <br /> necessary, make then permanent at that time. <br /> Chair Wilhoit noted that in the recruitment process, it is <br /> desirable to advertise the positions as permanent. <br /> Commissioner Carey noted that if the County is going to invest in <br /> training new personnel, the County should plan on keeping those people. <br /> Chair MIllhoit indicated and Sheriff Pendergrass confirmed that if <br />
