I. Outline of Joint Planning Process to Formulate Land Use Plan The Chairs discussed the outline prepared by Alice Gordon. The following are the main additions and/or comments made: A.Plan Development 'Ingram suggested that we should also use a recent map of Orange County distributed by the Economic Development Commission. to add a A-1 Physiagraphic characteristics. Both agreed that it was necessary soil analysis which indicated the suitability Of the soil for supporting septic tanks. B-1 and B-2 Water and sewer,Trans orat1e;IeBo�agreed t o a transportation of a water and sewer policy is a top priority, o element. Gordon indicated that Orange County must still develop p a transportation n t around plan. Both agreed that it was important to consider the type leas a the 1-40 interchanges,and both questioned the use of the Research ch Triangle center a most focus in determining road accessibility (conceptually, important focus). • C-1 and C-2 Goals and objectives,Growth issues. Ingram suggested that each jurisdiction should develop its own goals ent toaceraing county character,that is, that Orange County should develop the concept of what Orange County should be like in twenty years. B.Plan Formulation Both agreed that it would be desirable to relate the Uoi Joint La.
