CalKISSIONERS Action Agenda <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT Item NO.XM <br /> Meeting Date: SEPTEMBER 3, 1985 <br /> SUBJECT: INFRASTRUCTM SURVEY <br /> DEPARTMENT: COUNTY MANAGER, PUBLIC HMRIM: yes _2LND <br /> ATTWf1KEW(S) INFORQMON CONEACT: MANAGER'S <br /> OFFICE, X501 <br /> SMW MATERIAL HAS BEEN TELEPEONS NUMBER: <br /> INCrMflD IN AGENDA PACKETS E[illsborough -732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill -968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: Th consider if there are any changes and corrections the Board <br /> wishes to make to the survey portions related to Orange County <br /> Prior to the report being finalized. <br /> I <br /> NEED: The survey, CONPI-eted for Orange and Wake Counties, has been a <br /> major project, One Of the first of its kind in the country. <br /> Project Wmttee mmbers included Richard Stevens, Wake County <br /> Manager, Ken Thoqxon, Orange County Manager, Dempsey Benton, <br /> Raleigh Manager, David Taylor, Chapel Bill Manager, Brad Barker, <br /> TJCOG Director and Don Horton, Lebulon Manager, Robert Peck, <br /> former City Manager of Chapel Hill, was the principal investi- <br /> gator. <br /> Basic material was Provided by each participating jurisdiction <br /> under the categories of water, sewer, transportation, solid <br /> waste, community facilities, health facilities, and education <br /> facilities. In order to give each participating commity and <br /> County fun opportunity to verify and review the report the <br /> Executive Committee of the COG requests in requesting each <br /> governing board to review and provide any comment on the report <br /> by September 10, 1985. <br /> IMPACT: It is believed the report has aided in needs assessment and <br /> identification of opportunities for cooperative agreements. <br /> Follow up discussion will be given also to the possibility of <br /> regularly updating the survey results and holding work sessions <br /> on capital planning and budgeting. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): <br /> As the Board decides. <br />
