I NEED: The survey, CONPI-eted for Orange and Wake Counties, has been a major project, One Of the first of its kind in the country. Project Wmttee mmbers included Richard Stevens, Wake County Manager, Ken Thoqxon, Orange County Manager, Dempsey Benton, Raleigh Manager, David Taylor, Chapel Bill Manager, Brad Barker, TJCOG Director and Don Horton, Lebulon Manager, Robert Peck, former City Manager of Chapel Hill, was the principal investi- gator. Basic material was Provided by each participating jurisdiction under the categories of water, sewer, transportation, solid waste, community facilities, health facilities, and education facilities. In order to give each participating commity and County fun opportunity to verify and review the report the Executive Committee of the COG requests in requesting each governing board to review and provide any comment on the report by September 10, 1985. IMPACT: It is believed the report has aided in needs assessment and identification of opportunities for cooperative agreements. Follow up discussion will be given also to the possibility of regularly updating the survey results and holding work sessions on capital planning and budgeting. RECOMMENDATION(S): As the Board decides.
