Significant progress was made on the computerized <br /> information collection system during the year. <br /> Based on plans made in 1983-84, the Commission designed and mailed infor- <br /> mation collection forms to more than 250 agencies. Carolyn Lupo and Maldy <br /> Hodge received and edited the forms. Ms. Hodge maintained records and <br /> coordinated with Inter Faith Council volunteers to contact agencies not <br /> responding. Ms. Lupo developed an extensive topical index in addition to <br /> editing entries. <br /> The I/R steering committee was expanded to include representatives from <br /> the University and both school systems. The HSAC I/R Committee reviewed <br /> the project and commented on possible changes. As of June 30, all received <br /> entries had been edited and sent to Orange County Library for data entry. <br /> The first complete card file and directory should be published in July or Aug. <br /> Coordinating with Other_a22ncies. The Commission regularly coordinates with <br /> all other Orange <br /> County human services department, six legal Private non-profit <br /> community agencies, the North Carolina Council on the Status of Women and <br /> other community organizations dealing with women. <br /> Rita Berman and Verla Insko attended meetings of the Association of <br /> Community Agencies. Ms. Insko attended meetings of the Human Services <br /> Advisory Commission and served as chair of its Information Referral Committee. <br /> She continues as a member of the Orange County Women's Center advisory board <br /> and served this year as chair of the Women's Center Nominating Committee. In <br /> January, Ms. Insko was named a Division Advisory Group (DAG) member for the <br /> Chapel Hill- Carrboro Chamber of Commerce. <br /> In March the Commission nominated Verla Insko as Women of the Year for <br /> the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Council of Women's Organizations. She was selected <br /> to receive the award at the annual April luncheon. <br />
