Smith <br /> Planner <br /> Orange County Planning Department <br /> Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> Dear Ms. Smith: . <br /> This is in reference to your request for an access review of property <br /> located in southwest quadrant of intersection of NC86 and SR1332 <br /> (Coleman Loop Road) in Hillsborough Township. It is recommended the <br /> a left turn lane be constructed on NC86 for any access onto NC86. <br /> The speed limit on NC86 is 55MPH at this location. The vertical <br /> alignment is hilly. Trucks using NC86 will build up speed going <br /> downhill and probably have a difficult time stopping for traffic <br /> stopped on NC86 waiting to turn left into the development. The <br /> development also borders onto Coleman Loop Road. It is possible <br /> that access to the development can be off Coleman Mill Road with <br /> the left turn lane being constructed at the intersection of NC86 <br /> and Coleman Mill Road. We will be glad to discuss options with the <br /> developer or his engineer as plans are being finalized. <br /> Access to development off SR1395 (Harper Street) was also investigated. <br /> Access to Harper Street from this proposed development is acceptable. <br /> If we can be of any further help, please advise. <br /> Sincerely <br /> W.
